- It's a live status, not a balance — we re-check every hour. If they stop paying, the cover stops too
- More referrals = more cushion, so one person leaving doesn't cost you the month
- Only real, paid memberships count — free and comped accounts don't
- If a referral is refunded or reversed, they stop counting at the next check — same as if they had stopped paying
